On his return home, a young man teeters between a compelling state of delusion and an unremarkable normality.

Dissection is created around a simple narrative of an estranged son’s return to his childhood home to retrieve a few cherished belongings.

Dissection is the result of 6 months of interviews and research into the experiences of people affected by mental illness, focusing on psychosis. It became apparent through these interviews that an interesting balance existed between two states of being: psychosis and ‘normal’ mental perceptions of reality. Dissection explores each of these states, shifting from the first to the second midway through the film.
